Seven Pounds

Well despite my best efforts to spend a nice quiet Sunday at home doing things that I have been meaning to do for a month, mainly clean up the place a bit, I got dragged to the movie by my best friend. It was Will Smith’s new movie Seven Pounds. Now I love Will Smith, I think he is a great actor, I have liked most of his movies, I shouldn’t have felt like I was being dragged. I had just heard so many negative things about this movie that I didn’t want to see it.

First of all, to all of those negative nancies out there… what are you guys on? Seven Pounds was amazing. I was in awe the whole time. It’s such a tragic story. Will Smith was incredible! I seriously walked out of the theater in awe. I didn’t expect to feel this way. I haven’t felt this way in a long long time.

The movie had such a good message too. It’s about a man giving up his life, to better others’ lives. In my opinion we are on this earth to live selfless lives. We are here to better those around us. Now I in no way think you have to go commit suicide and donate your body parts to other people, but I do think that we should be trying to make peoples situations better. Smile at somebody. A random smile can turn one’s day around.

In my opinion it doesn’t matter what religion you are, it doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not, life is all about doing your best to contribute to making your community a better place. it’s about making the people you come in contact with better people. It’s about doing nice things for people, and treating people right all of the time, even when no one is watching. The best good deeds are the ones that go unnoticed for they come truely from the heart.

My mind is so full of all sorts of different thoughts right now. I would definitely recommend that movie to anyone. It was incredible, and will definitely make you think.
